How we handle them

Nobody pays this
out of savings

With the right funding strategy, cryopreservation becomes accessible regardless of your current situation.
Most common

Term-life insurance

Pure death-benefit protection for a fixed period, for example ten, twenty or thirty years, in exchange for level premiums. You choose the term length, as a number of years or a target age, and the coverage amount. If you die during the term, your insurer pays the full benefit, tax free, to your named beneficiary.

Through VKB, our partner
We handle everything for you. Fill out the insurance application form we send, and we submit it, manage the underwriting, and make sure VKB pays us directly to cover your cryopreservation.
Use your local insurer
Choose any term-life provider in your country and designate Tomorrow Biostasis GmbH as beneficiary. This guarantees the death benefit flows straight to your cryonics plan, whichever insurer you select.
Other insurers our members use
We publish a list of term-life insurers our members use in various countries. You are free to use any provider you wish: it does not have to be on that list.
Germany only

Whole-life insurance

Lifelong coverage with fixed premiums. Part of each payment funds a cash-value account that grows tax deferred.

Lifetime protection
Your policy never expires as long as premiums are paid.
Cash value
Builds guaranteed savings you can borrow against or withdraw.
Cost
Premiums are far higher than term policies.
Returns and fees
Cash-value growth is modest, and reduced by fees and surrender charges.
Illiquidity
Accessing the cash value may incur interest and reduce the death benefit.
VKB's Kapitallebensversicherung
Versicherungskammer Bayern offers a classic whole-life plan with level premiums and guaranteed minimum interest on cash value, dividend potential based on VKB's surplus, and policy loans and partial withdrawals. Available only to German residents.
United Kingdom only

Trust

A discretionary trust for cryopreservation is a specialised legal structure serving two purposes: covering all costs associated with your cryopreservation contract, and providing financial resources for the trust owner if they are successfully revived. The trust receives initial funding, uses part of it to pay for the cryopreservation, then invests and grows the remaining capital over the storage period. If revival becomes possible, the accumulated funds mean the revived person has resources to restart their life, covering living expenses, adaptation costs and other needs, while trustees keep discretionary power to allocate between ongoing storage costs and building that revival fund.

Future-proof protection
Trustees can adapt funding decisions as cryonics technologies and requirements evolve over potentially centuries of storage.
Tax efficiency
Properly structured trusts provide significant inheritance tax advantages while keeping funds ring-fenced for cryopreservation.
Professional management
Experienced trustees make informed investment and distribution decisions without rigid beneficiary constraints.
Professional setup
Working with solicitors experienced in trust law and future-oriented planning, you establish a robust legal structure for cryopreservation funding.
Funding strategy
Most clients fund through life insurance policies owned by the trust, ensuring funds are immediately available on legal death while maintaining tax efficiency.
Long-term management
Trustees manage investments and distributions according to your wishes, adapting to technological advances and changing circumstances.
Key requirements
Multiple potential beneficiaries to meet UK legal standards, a professional trust deed outlining objectives and trustee powers, and ongoing compliance with UK trust taxation and reporting.

This is a general overview only and does not constitute legal or financial advice. Discretionary trusts are complex, and the rules vary with your circumstances, the nature of the assets and evolving UK law. We strongly recommend speaking to a qualified solicitor or trust specialist. Select this option in our funding setup form for further guidance, or to be connected with professionals experienced in cryopreservation planning.

Short prognosis

Pre-payment and direct payment

A direct funding method where you pay Tomorrow.bio for the cryopreservation yourself, bypassing insurance and trust arrangements.

When we accept pre-payment
When a patient has a confirmed medical prognosis with a life expectancy of less than twelve months.
Direct payment
When a patient is in critical condition, or has recently passed away and immediate arrangements are required.
Why it exists
These options provide certainty in time-sensitive situations, where traditional long-term funding methods may not be practical or sufficient to secure the services in time.
Case by case

Alternative funding method

Any payment arrangement that does not fit our standard categories but can provide immediate liquidity before the cryopreservation. These are evaluated case by case, and require a consultation call to assess the feasibility and structure of what you propose.

If you select this option
Our team schedules a discussion to explore your specific circumstances and determine whether your proposed method meets our operational requirements.

Last will arrangements are not accepted as alternative funding methods, because of significant tax implications, potential family disputes and operational risks. Tomorrow.bio must advance €120,000 to the Patient Care Trust immediately upon cryopreservation, and last will payments cannot be guaranteed or processed quickly enough to cover these upfront costs.

Tailored financial solutions for your cryopreservation goals. This product was designed to guarantee you have the capital required for cryopreservation after your selected life insurance term expires. Every financial situation is unique, so we partner with specialised brokers who understand both investment strategies and cryopreservation funding, combining life insurance coverage with strategic investment options.

Application form
After selecting this option in your funding setup, you receive an application form requesting personal information. This helps our broker prepare and identify the best financial products for your situation before your consultation.
Personal consultation
Our experienced broker schedules a call to understand your financial situation, goals and timeline. This is not a sales pitch, it is a comprehensive assessment of what will work best for you.
Customised strategy
Based on your consultation, the broker designs a plan that typically combines life insurance for immediate protection, investment components to build long-term capital, and flexible premium structures that fit your budget.
Ongoing support
Your broker remains available throughout the process to adjust your plan as your circumstances change, so you stay on track to meet your cryopreservation funding goals.
Why a custom approach
Unlike one-size-fits-all products, the custom plan is built around your reality. Whether you are starting your career, approaching retirement or somewhere in between, the broker identifies the most efficient path to secure both your protection and your future.

The US market offers particularly advantageous options, with competitive costs and flexible structures that can significantly outperform traditional European alternatives, but the right solution depends entirely on your individual circumstances.

Your questions,
answered

How might costs change over time or with scale?
+

As Tomorrow.bio membership grows, we aim to achieve economies of scale that reduce per-person costs. These efficiencies come from things like bulk purchasing, more efficient storage and transport logistics, larger dewars, and better geographic coverage (which reduces transport times and costs). As scale increases, fixed costs get spread over more preservations, which can help lower the cost component for each individual.

Why does the brain-only option cost significantly less than whole-body?
+

Because some cost components scale with body mass or size (transport, storage volume, materials, cooldown), brain-only preservation reduces those costs. The fixed costs (like labor, QA, equipment fractions) still apply, but because the overall volume and logistical burden are less, overall cost is substantially lower.

What’s included in the Tomorrow.bio plan and how much does it cost?
+

The cost of cryopreservation depends on whether you are a member of Tomorrow.bio or not:
Whole-body cryopreservation: €200,000 as a member, or €230,000 as a non-member
Brain-only cryopreservation: €75,000 as a member, or €115,000 as a non-member

Becoming a member lowers the cost of cryopreservation and comes with additional benefits such as a welcome box for emergencies, access to our community, and ongoing support from our team.
Membership options:
€50 per month
€500 per year
€15,000 lifetime (this amount will later be subtracted from your cryopreservation cost)

Most members cover the cryopreservation costs using term life insurance, though you can also use your own insurance, savings plan, will, or another funding method. Both the Membership Fee and the Standby & Storage Fee are paid while you are alive. After cryopreservation, there are no further payments.

Can I change plan later?
+

Yes, you have the flexibility to switch between membership plans by accessing our Member Zone or by contacting us at support@tomorrow.bio

Is it possible to pre-pay directly instead of using insurance or a trust?
+

In certain cases, Tomorrow.bio allows direct pre-payment of the required fees. This option is generally offered to individuals who are terminally ill, elderly, or otherwise unable to secure life insurance. Payment is made in advance once specific criteria are met, ensuring funds are secured for immediate or near-future use. This method avoids dependence on insurance providers but may not be available to everyone. Contact us at support@tomorrow.bio for more information.

€50 is too much for me right now.
+

We understand that financial situations vary, and we want our services to be accessible to everyone. That's why we offer means-tested pricing, meaning your membership fee is based on what you can genuinely afford, starting from as little as €5/month. If the standard €50/month fee isn't right for your situation, please write to us at sales@tomorrow.bio. We'll have a confidential conversation and find a rate that works for you. Are you a student? We offer an additional 90% discount for 3 years. Email us with proof of enrollment to claim yours.
