Cryopreservation shouldn't only be for the wealthy. The possibility of continued existence matters regardless of income. We're working to expand access, but let's be honest about what that means and what's actually possible.

‍

Why costs are high

Cryopreservation is expensive for real reasons. Standby teams ready to respond 24/7. Specialized medical equipment. Long-term storage in liquid nitrogen that continues for decades. Legal infrastructure that needs to last generations. These costs don't compress easily.

‍

The student situation

Students face a unique challenge. Often low-income now but potentially high-income later. Decades of life ahead means decades of premium payments. Starting young locks in better insurance rates.

But you also have unstable finances, debt, uncertain post-graduation employment, and limited ability to commit to decades of payments. Starting coverage now is optimal only if you can sustain it through all the financial chaos of early career years.

‍

What we actually offer

We offer student discounts for 3 years. If you're a student, contact us directly. We'll explain current programs, look at your situation, and see if we can find something that works.

Honest advice for students

First, be realistic about your finances. Can you commit to premiums after the 3 years? If not, waiting for stable income might be smarter than starting coverage you'll likely cancel.

Second, consider term life insurance as a bridge. Downside: it expires around 65-75, so you'd need to extend eventually or find for an alternative funding method.

Third, focus on career. The best way to make cryopreservation affordable long-term is increasing your earning power.

Fourth, remember probability. You're young. The chance you'll need preservation soon is very low. Delaying coverage a few years while getting financially stable probably doesn't meaningfully reduce your overall chances.

As cryopreservation grows, procedures improve, costs should decrease, also thanks to the economy of scale.
