C. elegans survive cryopreservation with memories intact

This paper set out to discover whether memories can be retained after cryopreservation. The research was done on commonly used model organism called a Caenorhabditis elegan (C. elegan) and showed that they could be revived out of cryopreservation while keeping their memories intact.

Rabbit kidney functional after cryopreservation

This research reports the case of a rabbit's kidney which survived cryopreservation and was successfully transplanted back into a rabbit. This demonstrated the feasibility of vitrifying and reviving complex systems.

Pig revived from brain death and cold perfusion

This experiment began by inducing cardiac arrest and brain death in a pig and perfusing it with cold solutions until it reached close to 0°C. Afterwards the pig was rewarmed and revived and evidence suggested that it's memories persisted.
