On a high level Tomorrow’s R&D initiatives have two objectives:
1) What can we do today to improve the quality of a cryopreservation that might happen tomorrow? (This is mostly the Development side of R&D)
2) What R&D projects can we start now or soon to fundamentally advance the field in the long-term? (This is mostly the research side of R&D)Initially, we will mostly concentrate on the lower hanging fruit on the development side.
The reasoning for that is two fold. Firstly, as an organization with significant in-house expertise and capability we’re set up to produce substantial improvements in the short and mid-term. And second, there is still significant existing knowledge that can be implemented into cryopreservation procedures (especially in Europe). Research projects on the other hand will initially be conducted in collaboration with others or just funded by us.
