Are you looking for a way to help the growth of the Biostasis community?
Recent technological breakthroughs, especially in the medical field, are showing that revival from cryopreservation is not such an absurd idea. For this reason, and thanks also to the possibility of connecting online (e.g. on Discord), the biostasis community has grown considerably over the last few years. However, members of the community remain fragmented around the world. Most people are still unaware of the possibility offered by cryopreservation. Meanwhile, the events organized to create awareness and meet like-minded people are few. How can we try to address this situation? Knowing that many people want to participate first-hand, we have come up with a way to help them set up their own local Biostasis Association.
Today, people who are being introduced to the subject of cryonics for the first time may find it difficult to find like-minded individuals. Think of how it was for you: you have probably read or heard about people “getting frozen”, in the hope of being awakened in the future. Maybe you were watching a science fiction film or reading a novel. The idea behind cryonics fascinated you, prompting you to research more on the topic. You had to wade through several contradictory opinions and misconceptions about cryonics. Until you found more reliable sources and decided that cryopreservation was right for you. Now, wouldn't it have been much easier to have people with whom you could share your doubts and fears? Have the option of receiving material in your mother tongue from an association dedicated to the cause?
A local Biostasis Association could be a support for those who are not familiar with the subject. But there are many more reasons why it would be important:
Creating a successful association is not easy. First, you need effort and organizational skills to keep the website going. Not counting material to publish, time to spend on the project; plus most importantly, experts who can teach and provide a solid scientific basis.
As this project is important, both for us and for you, we want to give you all the support we can! Once we have made contact and established the initial steps, we will guide you through the whole journey to make sure it has a solid foundation. A dedicated member of our team will be at your disposal to help with your project for as long as it takes. Only once you are able to stand on your own two feet can your association become independent. In order to achieve this, you will need more members willing to devote a few hours of their time to the project. The objective must be clear and serious: the development of biostasis.
Are you keen to support the development of Biostasis? Are you willing to invest some hours of your time in this project? Are you looking forward to discussing cryonics with your compatriots? Then let's see what steps you need to move forward into your own Biostasis association.
First of all, you can’t be alone in this mission. Before jumping into the practical part, you should sit down and evaluate how this association will work. First, we recommend finding a group of 3 to 5 people. Then, you will have to find a "reason why" for your association. Do you want to educate people? Or support research? Or maybe just meet compatible open-minded people? Although the association may have several goals in mind, it is important to have one or two main ones. Perhaps it would be helpful to get your group together and write down these goals: it is important that you all agree on the basics.
Now that you have decided what you want to do, you need to divide up the tasks and work out how many hours each person is able to dedicate to this association. Each member in fact should be able to dedicate around 1 or 2 hours per week for a long period of time. Without that push, nothing will work.
Obviously, each Biostasis association will be different, but we have assessed some main roles:
Once all the preparatory work is done, it is time to get down to business. We will send you a template that you can use to create your website. We will assist you and guide you in the development of the website. We will share our knowledge on the subject and some useful content, especially in the initial part of your association. It will be up to you to translate it into your mother tongue and publish it on your website.
The starting part might be slow and we advise you to be patient. It is better to wait until you have an audience before organizing events: the more people participate, the better the costs will be covered.
Now you have an audience, more people are joining your association and you have managed to find a routine to take care of all tasks. You have grown up enough to become independent! Of course, we will always be available for questions and advice, but we leave it up to you to decide where to go with your project.
You may think about organizing events at this point. We realized that many people interested in cryonics do not sign up because they lack human contact, a person to talk to, discussing doubts and fears. Your association could provide this contact, ensuring greater growth of the cryonics community. Our specialists will be happy to attend your events, talking about the latest findings and results in the Biostasis field.
Finally, if through your association several people decide to sign up for cryopreservation, we will go the extra mile. We are willing to sponsor training events at your location and train your members in First Response. And in case your association is particularly successful, we could donate a heart-lung machine (Lucas device). You will then be ready to implement initial procedures to ensure high quality cryopreservation, especially in case of sudden death.

Now, if you are interested in this project, it is time to get started. The initial part, finding other interested people, may seem complicated. If you don't know anyone personally, we suggest you try connecting with our members on our Discord server or other online platforms.
